What is the Health Provider Portal?
DVA Online Services is designed to provide a secure, convenient, online access point to a range of DVA services. The Health Provider Portal, in the DVA Online Services, is an online facility that allows Health Providers to organise transport for veterans.
This portal facilitates booking of transport online to and from eligible medical appointments.
With the Health Provider Portal, Health Providers can:
- Create transport bookings
- Search for and review existing transport bookings, whether initiated by phone, fax, secure email or through the Health Provider portal
- Edit or cancel transport bookings created through Health Provider Portal.
Why use Health Provider Portal?
The advantages of using the health provider portal to make and manage transport bookings over other methods such as phone or fax, include:
- More reliable – you can review, edit and track the bookings you make
- Faster – no more waiting in telephone queues
- Convenient – make and manage bookings at a time that suits you
- Better for Veterans – less waiting time for return trips after appointments.
How to register to use the Portal
Before you can access the Health Provider Portal, you will also need a Provider Digital Access (PRODA) account, to enable secure access to the Health Provider Portal. This security credential protects your security and privacy when dealing with us online.
You will also need to have your Health Provider Number (HPN) handy to be able to access the Portal after using your PRODA account to log in.
How to get a PRODA account
To register an individual PRODA account, go to servicesaustralia.gov.au/proda and from the side menu select "How to register for an individual account". Please note:
- You are required to verify 100 points of Proof of Identity online, such as a driver's licence, passport or Medicare card.
- You must register your own account using your own identification documents. You must not create an account for someone else or share your secure access details.
- If you already have an individual PRODA account, you do not need register again.
